Excuse Me! Please Say That Again, Slowly This Time…

Mutual Fund adverts on Indian TV channels rip through the standard Risk Warning in a few micro seconds. The market regulator has asked them to respect the punctuation and breath between words. For experienced investors these messages are irritating and the nature of their delivery always makes me feel like kicking the TV. Something anyway. The TV is too bloody expensive to kick. The new rule comes into force on April 1 though. What does that mean?

ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund – Cut-off Time For Online Purchases

ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund – Cut-off Time For Online Purchases

ICICI Prudential’s web site allows existing investors to purchase additional units of ICICI Prudential mutual funds, redeem their holdings and switch between the AMC’s funds. But you will need a Folio Number to be able to use it. Which means that you will need to own units in at least one ICICI Prudential mutual fund. Typically the cut off time for mutual fund transactions is 3.00 p.m. on working days. However for purchases made on ICICI Prudential’s web site, the…

ICICI Online Banking Flaws – RBI’s EFT Discontinued

ICICI Online Banking Flaws – RBI’s EFT Discontinued

A few days ago I posted about changes to ICICI’s Online Banking Fund Transfer Feature, with a follow-up post on the same topic with additional details from RBI’s web site. I had trouble with this service again yesterday. I have a loan from SBI and the landing branch is the one in Cyber Towers (Hi-Tech City), Madhapur, Hyderabad. This particular branch was on RBI’s EFT list and was hence deleted from ICICI’s online banking system. However my EMI payment standing…

Sundaram BNP Paribas Mutual has put up a new web page for online transactions. In it they promise to provide a Direct Payment Gateway for online Mutual Fund Purchases, thereby enabling investors to avail the new No Load option given to direct purchases from the AMC. A welcome move! I look forward to using the service when it is available. Till then you will have to put in a hardcopy request the traditional way to avail the No Load option….

ICICI Bank Online Banking – Fund Transfer Changes

ICICI Bank Online Banking – Fund Transfer Changes

ICICI Bank has made some very big changes to it’s Online Fund Transfer service. It seems RBI has discontinued it’s ETF service and now only the NETF service is available. This means you can no longer transfer funds to banks and branches that are not yet on the NETF service. For example the SBI branch in Cyber Towers, Madhapur is not on the NEFT service yet. In addition to the above, ICICI Bank has introduced time restrictions. They will not…

Fidelity Mutual Fund & CAMS – SIP Application Rejection

Fidelity Mutual Fund & CAMS – SIP Application Rejection

On Feb 12, 2008, I walked into the CAMS office in MG Road, Secunderabad with a few Mutual Fund SIP applications and cheques dated Feb 15, 2008. Also included were ECS forms for the remaining SIP payments for each fund. It was 12.30 and the girls behind the counter were winding up for the day. The CAMS office closes at 1.00 p.m. on Saturdays. Anyway, I submitted my application forms and walked away. One of the forms was for a…

ICICI’s PruTracker – Analyze Scheme Performance

ICICI’s PruTracker – Analyze Scheme Performance

ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund is one of India’s leading AMCs. They manage a lot of money (AUM) and are innovative in their product offerings. They also have a good track record of technology use. Their web site was one of the first to offer direct purchase of Mutual Fund units as well as portfolio tracking. The PruTracker is a good product though it lacks some fundamental features, particularly on the usability side but that is another post 🙂 Of late…
