Jajpur Ru!

Jajpur Ru!

My cousin, who obviously is a fellow Odiya, sent me this on WhatsApp. I laughed till my tummy ached. Odiyas will of course get the joke though I doubt all of them will appreciate it. ———- Bill Gates organized an enormous session to recruit a new Chairman for Microsoft Europe. 5000 candidates assembled in a large room. One candidate is Mr. Pratap from Dhenkanal. Bill Gates: Thank you for coming. Those who do not know JAVA may leave. 2000 people…

Phailin – Divine Intervention? Jai Ma Durga!

Phailin – Divine Intervention? Jai Ma Durga!

I drove my parents to the Mumbai Domestic Airport at Vile Parle at 5.00 am this morning for their 6.20 Jet Airways flight to Bhubaneswar. I was worried! Bhubaneswar was hit by the worst cyclone in 14 years – Phailin – less than than 36 hours ago. Class 9, 2012

Mamli is now in class 9. The pressure is very high compared to last year. The school board,  CBSE, has made many changes and this actually results in more pressure as each and every exam now weighs towards the final matriculation result. On top of that R. N. Podar school goofed up big time. They schedued 3 major tests one after the other with less than a week’s go between each. That is 2 months of continous exams.

Reshared post from +Erika Thornes We went to Mission Beach in San Diego last night on a crowded Saturday night… You wouldn't know it by how I placed them, but this was on a busy walkway, and there were lots of people on the beach as well. It is all about angles. They are such a sweet couple, and I wanted to create some beach memories for them. I hope that they love the silhouettes I made for them. Google+:…

Reshared post from +Trey Ratcliff The Shuttle in Spacedock This was shot in the new Air and Space Museum on DC. Yes, not that old one that I used to think was cool when I was a kid. This is a new and improved center that is completely unbelievable. I had a small argument with a security guard that would not let me take my tripod. He said I needed a “blue card." I asked how to get that and…
